Crypto-currencies have generated immense debate, interest and anxiety in the last few years. With the increasing developments in crypto-currencies, the role of crypto assets have become more and more important. A crypto asset in a layman’s language refers to an asset that is dealt with, in any manner whatsoever by distinctive stakeholders in the crypto ecosystem.
Ever since Blockchain got evolved and ever since Bitcoins became very popular, the popular perception of crypto assets and crypto-currencies indeed saw some very high expectations. However, the speculative nature of crypto-currencies have dampened the spirit of many stakeholders. Various governments view crypto-currencies and crypto assets with great amount of skepticism. This Book has further sought to examine the current level of Cyberlaw jurisprudence in the context of crypto-currencies and crypto assets.
This Book has not only highlighted the positive aspects of crypto assets and crypto-currencies but also have sought to analyze the different challenges that exist in the further continued growth, dissemination and adoption of crypto assets and crypto-currencies. A perusal of the existing landscape does show that crypto assets jurisprudence is an emerging area of Cyberlaw jurisprudence. Lot of new developments are taking place and are further likely to impact the way how the evolving jurisprudence in this regard will further develop in the coming times. Stakeholders have to appreciate that the law pertaining to crypto assets is likely to substantially evolve in the coming times.
This Book also seeks to give a brief global overview and insight of some of the key approaches being adopted by different stakeholders in the direction of regulating crypto-currencies and crypto assets. This Book also seeks to provide an insight on how the legal frameworks concerning crypto assets are developing in different parts of the world and what further are the key thrust areas that are likely to further evolve in this direction as time passes by.
